In this course, you will learn how to use Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Analysis Services (SSAS). This course includes concepts, procedures and practices based on real-world experience giving both the novice and experienced SQL Server developer information on Advanced DAX, Time Intelligent KPI, Advanced Degenerate Dimensions and Performance Security.
SSAS 2014: MDX
What is MDX? MDX or Multi Dimensional Expression Language is a query language for relational databases. This course will explain the power of MDX Members, functions, and structures allowing end users to slice and dice data quickly and easily by business rules. It will also show how MDX integrates with reporting services to populate charts and reports.
SSAS 2014: DAX
DAX or Data Analysis Expression language allows developers to extract data from dashboards and reports. This course will begin by explaining how DAX relates to the tabular model. It will progress to how row and filter contexts and functions can be used to manipulate data and then how Time Intelligence allows for slicing data quickly and easily. Finally it will show how DAX can be used to populate Reporting dropdowns and report previews.
SSAS 2014: Cube and Tabular Processing
The Tabular Model can be used to efficiently retrieve data. This course discusses how cube automation and tabular processing can be done on Dimensions and Measure groups. It also covers how storage and retrieval of the tabular model works for both back ups and restoration and finishes up with optimization and best practices of tabular storage.
SSAS 2014: Data Mining
Data Mining is an analytical process to explore data looking for patterns. In this course, you will learn how to create a model from a data source and by using data sets and SQL Server Data Tools analyze data. By using business questions like "what customers may be inclined to buy a product" or "how products are grouped" to looking for patterns of fraud, business analytics are a powerful tool to both examine data and look for predictions. Finally, when Data Mining should be used vs a Lift chart will explained giving you power choices in getting control of your data.
