Planner is an online application for managing projects and communicating with Microsoft 365 users within or outside your organization. Planner is intended to properly plan all tasks for a particular project. It is ideal for coordinating all projects/tasks in a team, but Planner is also very suitable for your own tasks. With Planner you determine which activities are done when and (if any) by whom.

In this course, you’ll learn how to navigate the Planner interface to discover your plans and assigned tasks. You will also see how to customize your profile, theme, and notifications using various tools. One tool in Microsoft 365 Planner is ‘’Plans’’. Plans are groups used to organize and manage projects, tasks, and progress. You will learn the different ways to create a new plan from scratch, add a plan to an existing Microsoft 365 Group, and manage your plans by renaming them and configuring email-setting.

An efficient way to manage a plan is to divide it up into tasks. You will discover how to add more details to your tasks, like due dates, priority, progress, or labels. These details are useful to get an overall view of your plan. Furthermore, you will learn to share information with other members of your plan by uploading files on your plan’s SharePoint.

Microsoft Planner: Signing-in & using Planner

  • using various tools.

Microsoft Planner: Planning projects

  • Plans are groups used to organize and manage projects, tasks,

  • and progress. In this course, discover the different ways to create
  • a new plan from scratch, how to add a plan to an existing Microsoft
  • 365 Group, as well as how to manage your plans by renaming them and
  • configuring email settings. You'll also see how to create a copy of
  • your plan, get a direct link to share it with other members or
  • guests, and how to export your plan into an Excel file.

Microsoft Planner: Managing tasks

  • In Microsoft Planner, an efficient way to manage a plan is to

  • divide it up into tasks. In this course, learn how to create and
  • work with tasks, for example, to assign them to one or more members
  • of your team. You will also discover how to add more details to
  • your tasks, like due dates, priority, progress, or labels. These
  • details are useful to get an overall view of your plan. For
  • instance, to display the progress of your plan, learn how to use
  • the Charts view. If you prefer to display your scheduled and
  • unscheduled tasks, then switch to the Schedule view. Lastly, see
  • how to organize and filter your tasks by adding customized labels.
  • You will also learn how to copy, move, and delete tasks.

Microsoft Planner: Sharing information

  • Microsoft Planner makes it easy to share information with other

  • members of your plans. In this course, discover how to add files,
  • photos and videos to tasks. If you upload these files from your
  • computer, they will be automatically uploaded to your plan's
  • SharePoint site, and you can re-use these files at any time by
  • selecting them from SharePoint. This course will also teach you how
  • to share links and how to display a preview of your attachments on
  • a task card. Lastly, see how to add and reply to comments from
  • Planner or Outlook.
